Our Story
At Trixies Salon & Spa, we are a team of Image Consultants and Spa Specialists who are dedicated to tailoring each experience to meet your individual needs. We pride ourselves on our thorough lifestyle consultation before new services, and we strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere in our boutique salons. We are passionate about providing 5 star services for our guests and are known for inclusive services, custom color creations, and promoting wellness within our spa.

Our guests can relax listening to diverse music and unwind with our relaxing wellness menu, featuring soothing extras like hand massages and hydrating eye treatments. Continuing education and training is not only a requirement for us, but a passion. We are constantly learning new techniques to keep you excited about your style.

In addition to our dedication to our craft, we are also active members of the community. We are members of numerous community chambers and regularly volunteer and support local charities. You can often find us at various events and activities around town. We have even been recognized by Salon Today as one of this year's Top 200 Salons and for having two of the best digital marketing pieces with our blog and mission statement.

Meet Tricia - Trixies Founder
Tricia is a southside native of Des Moines and a proud graduate of La James International College. She founded Trixies in 2006 and has grown her dream from a solo chair to today's team of 20 and four locations.
This journey truly began when Trixies Salon on the Southside opened it's doors in 2010 with it's first four team members. Tricia's favorite quote is "Live the life you've imagined" by Henry David Thoreau, and she strives to do just that every day. What kind of life did she imagine? One that embodies the Heart of a Hairdresser, of course. That means a commitment to the community, a passion for giving back with a pledge to leave an impact. That impact extends beyond Trixies to her work at the Empower Boutique inside John Stoddard Cancer Center, haircuts and beauty services with hospice patients, manicures at a retirement community, and a full-time position doing coaching with the Small Business Development Center of Iowa. Oh, and in her spare time, she founded the non-profit DreamCatchers Foundation, co-hosts a podcast and events with Your Sasstastic Life, and is starting a new venture called the Candlelit Forest.
Outside of Trixies and her work within the community, Tricia loves spending time with her family, road tripping in her Jeep, antiquing, camping, and supporting local anywhere she goes.
