Non-Profit Shoutout: Empower Salon & Boutique 

This month, we’re shining our spotlight on Empower Salon & Boutique at John Stoddard Cancer Center in Des Moines. This incredible organization provides free salon services and affordable boutique products to cancer patients, helping them look and feel their best during treatment.

They offer services like head shaving, haircuts and skincare, plus wigs, head scarves and confidence-boosting goodies. It’s all about dignity, self-love and empowerment — and we are so here for that. 💕

Team Spotlight: Kirsten’s Colorado Adventure

Our very own Kirsten Weiland has been on the move — she recently traveled to Lafayette, Colorado (just northwest of Denver) to complete the Klose Training Manual Lymph Drainage Certification Course.

This wasn’t a chill little getaway, y’all — we’re talking 45 hours of hands-on training, full days of classroom work and even homework! But Kirsten came back glowing (and not just from that mountain air).

She’s now certified in Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) — a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that stimulates your lymphatic system, helping your body flush out excess fluid and waste. It’s amazing for post-surgical recovery, lymphedema and immune support, and she’ll soon be offering MLD sessions right here at Trixie’s!

Keep an eye out for scheduling details — and remember, MLD isn’t for everyone, so Kirsten will make sure you’re a great fit before starting.
